RCIA SPONSORS

Being an RCIA sponsor can be an enriching experience.  For cradle Catholics, those born into the faith, it can be an awakening, revitalizing, and strengthening of their faith, and knowledge of it.  For new Catholics it is an exceptional way of getting involved with their new faith community beyond just coming to mass.

Each
candidate and catechumen entering RCIA is assigned a sponsor about four to five weeks after the program begins.  For Candidates and Catechumens their sponsor is their shoulder and guide as they make their way on their faith journey.  Careful attention is taken by the RCIA team when matching up sponsors and candidates or catechumens.  And, in some cases they bring a sponsor with them, or, already have someone in mind that they would like to ask to be their sponsor.

Would you like to be an RCIA sponsor?  If you believe you have the qualities below and are willing to invest the time, the RCIA team would like to speak
with you about becoming a sponsor.

An RCIA sponsor is a Companion...a Guide....a Support.
A sponsor is someone who is willing to listen with acceptance, respect, and confidentiality.
